A simple exam revision plan for students
Start early, revise in small steps and practise with friends. Follow this plan before tests and end-of-term exams.
Weeks before: plan
List every subject and its topics. Mark the topics you find hardest. Make a timetable that gives more time to hard topics and keeps short breaks between sessions.
Weeks before: learn and revise
Revise one topic at a time using your notes and textbooks. Write a short summary of each topic in your own words, with key formulas, dates or definitions.
Practise with friends
Join the Exams room or make a private group. Set each other questions, explain answers, and compare methods. Practising with past questions shows you what you still need to revise.
The last days
Go through your summaries instead of learning new material. Sleep well, eat properly and avoid last-minute panic. Never look for or share exam papers before the exam; that is cheating and breaks our rules.
Exam day
Read each question carefully, plan your time, answer the easy questions first, and leave a few minutes to check your work.
